story about cameras and systems

Japan is a beautiful country with natural changes throughout the four seasons, and is surrounded by the sea with rich fishing grounds. On the other hand, in recent years, against the background of social instability in other countries, illegal work and illegal immigration for anti-social activities have been constantly emerging.
In addition, there has been an increase in fish poaching and illegal operations by foreign fishing vessels, and as a countermeasure, there is a need for an enhanced surveillance system that uses various cameras to enable wide-area surveillance and crackdown. Since the September 11, 2001 attacks in the U.S., we need to further strengthen our countermeasures against international terrorism.

Leveraging our accumulated know-how and technology, maneuverability and new technology, we have prepared a rich lineup of ultra-high-sensitivity CMOS cameras, infrared cameras, laser cameras, range gate cameras, body scanning systems, etc. We also offer an advanced security system that introduces various cameras, control devices, recorders, etc. that can be used 7/24- hours, including night.

In order to meet the optimal needs of each customer, we not only inspect the proposed site where the system will be installed, but also conduct demonstrations with actual equipment upon request. After going through these steps, we will propose the most suitable surveillance camera system for our customers.

As you can see from the contents below, we would like to introduce you to the features and performance of each camera and explain the terminology used in this website.

Types of cameras

Ultra-high-sensitivity HD CMOS Camera
Ultra-high-sensitivity HD CMOS and former CCD cameras can clearly capture subjects in high-definition color images during the day. Even at night, images can be visualized with a certain level of illumination equivalent to moonlight, but they cannot be visualized with no light source at all.

Infrared Camera

Infrared cameras convert the surface temperature of an object into grayscale and display it. Therefore, you can see images even in the dark with no light, making them ideal for night surveillance. However, characters such as vessel names and hull numbers are not readable.

Laser Camera

This is a camera system that uses a long-range laser beam as illumination light and captures images with a CMOS camera. Laser light exists in the near-infrared wavelength region (invisible light), so it is invisible to human eyes. This camera is used in combination with our patented "eye-safe" like eye protection, function.
There is also an integrated camera system combined with an infrared camera.

Serial Irradiation System

This is a system of continuously irradiating the illumination laser light (laser continuous oscillation system.

Pulse Irradiation System(Range-gated Camera)
Range-gated cameras detect a pulse by irradiating a laser light (laser light that periodically and instantaneously turns on and off), and while this pulsed light reaches the subject, the shutter of the camera is closed. This system then repeats the operation of opening the shutter only when the pulsed light returns to the camera. This makes it possible to obtain an image of only the subject without receiving diffuse reflections from excluding the subject, such as moisture and dust.

Reference examples of combinations of the surveillance camera systems

Surveillance camera systems consist of combinations of different types of cameras. There are roughly the following combinations, as you can see in the examples below.
Each camera or each combination of cameras are embedded in each individual camera housing.
When mounted them on each vessel, they are housed in each stabilizer for each vessel, which makes them almost unaffected by any vibrations and shocks.
